The demand for mobile devices is continuing to grow in the UK.

The fact that more and more Britons want to access the internet while on the move has also helped to drive smartphone sales in recent years. 

A new study by the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) has shown that British consumers spend 43 hours a month online, which equates to one in every 12 minutes.

Unsurprisingly, the mobile revolution has prompted advertisers to change the way they set their budgets. Overall, digital advertisers spent a record £3.04 billion in the first half of 2013, with 14 per cent of this money being used to fund mobile campaigns.

View our smartphone & tablet accessories rangeTim Elkington, director of research and strategy at the IAB, said: “With smartphone penetration crossing the two-thirds landmark and the successful roll out of 4G, 2013 could be the year when advertising spend on mobile crosses the £1 billion threshold.”

Businesses are still keen to give away promotional items that raise awareness of their organisation and, in many ways, the mobile revolution has also made this job much easier.
