Why There Has Never Been A Better Time To Invest In Promotional Reusable Bags

Promotional Reusable Bags In ActionIt’s in the bag!

From 5 October 2015 large retailers will be required by law to charge for single-use plastic carrier bags. There are no exemptions for biodegradable bags at present. For large retailers employing 250 or more full-time staff, the minimum charge will be 5p for most single-use bags. Small or medium-sized business don’t have to charge but can do so if they wish.

England alone generates about 177 million tonnes of waste every year; a poor use of resources and a significant cost to businesses and households. It also causes environmental damage – waste sent to landfill sites, for example, produces methane, a powerful greenhouse gas.

The government wants to move towards a ‘zero waste economy’. This doesn’t mean no waste, rather a society where resources are fully valued, financially and environmentally. It means we reduce, reuse and recycle all that we can, and throw things away only as a last resort.

And with all the focus on people taking their own bags to the supermarket to do their bit for the environment there’s never been a better time to get your brand on a reusable bag!

Promotional reusable bags range from low cost woven bags for life to eco-friendly jute and cotton ones – all just asking to be branded with great logos, messages and graphics!

Aligning a business with green practices and using promotional items that are environmentally conscious sends out a good message and supports a brand’s culture.
